For more than 75 years, The Empty Stocking Fund has been helping to provide a
brighter holiday season to underprivileged children in the metro Atlanta area. It is
through the generosity of the community that we've been able to both continue and
grow this program over the years.
But there are many more children who need our help! Welfare reform initiatives
have made The Empty Stocking Fund's job more difficult. Thousands of families
have left the welfare rolls and thus are harder to identify and locate. These
families, often referred to as the "working poor," have to put their earnings toward
basic needs like food and shelter. If it weren't for organizations like The Empty
Stocking Fund, they might have some very disappointed children on Christmas
morning.
It is only through the generosity of donors and volunteers that The Empty Stocking
Fund can continue to provide a happy holiday season to the many needy children
of metro Atlanta.
The Empty Stocking Fund website has been improved for the 2007 holiday
season. Donors can now go online and set-up automatic monthly donations or
quarterly donations to be made to the organization.
