On July 1st, the Kids in Need program was acquired by The Empty Stocking Fund, a 92-year-old, Atlanta-based, Atlanta-serving nonprofit that provides holiday gifts (and now school supplies!) to children in need throughout metro Atlanta.
For the upcoming school year, select districts including Atlanta Public Schools, DeKalb County Schools and Clayton County Schools, will be served on a ‘bulk’ basis as we test a new distribution model that we believe will be more efficient and ultimately provide greater value to teachers and students. Teachers from all other districts will continue to be served via the Kids in Need Resource Center.
Each teacher will receive a Class Kit containing 12 full sets of core supplies like pencils, pens, paper, notebooks, folders, glue, erasers, and index cards. Please refer to the below list for distribution information for your district.
Atlanta Public Schools / Clayton County Schools / DeKalb County Schools – Kits will be delivered directly to you via your district’s administration office. CLICK HERE to register and request yours now!
All Other Metro Area Districts – Registration open NOW! CLICK HERE to schedule a date to pick up your class kits!
* Due to funding / donation limitations, we are unable to serve every eligible teacher or student in metro Atlanta. As such, Class Kits are allocated by district to ensure we are able to serve a broad geographic area.
